Top 3 Adorable Animated Couples

It's the month of love, with Valentine's Day coming up in just under two weeks. The most prominent animated romances are usually the Disney princesses - we'll be seeing a lot of quizzes about Disney Prince and Princess soulmates in the next couple weeks. Instead of focusing on Disney royalty, I decided to take a look at the animated couples that I find most adorable.

Roger and Anita Radcliffe, One Hundred and One Dalmatians

Roger Radcliffe is an unsung hero of the Disney canon: he's polite, dorky, loving, and witty. Not to mention, his character design is one of Disney's most appealing, in my opinion. He and Anita are an adorable couple that portray a really healthy relationship, compared to some of the more popular romances in Disney history. Their live-action counterparts didn't quite have the same chemistry, but these two have always been my ideal couple.

Anastasia and Dimitri, Anastasia

Who didn't root for these two? Dimitri and Anya played with the common 90s rom-com dynamic of witty banter and unexpected friendship. With great storywriting, both of these characters grow and change, aligning nicely with each other so that their relationship can realistically work; it's template more Disney movies have begun to follow with Princess and the Frog or Tangled. Anya and Dimitri are a couple that work to work, willing to make sacrifices for each other, and displaying so much love for each other in all these little ways.

EVE and WALL-E, WALL-E

Yes, I know they're robots. But these two are legitimately my OTP (One True Pair). I love their friendship, based on quirky interests and commonalities despite their vast differences. They come from such different worlds and yet so easily fit together; there's an element of The Little Mermaid as WALL-E joins EVE's world, but here the relationship is much more defined and developed, complementing the story rather than driving it. These two always make me so happy.

Stay tuned for news, an Annie Awards countdown, and a new Film of the Week series. Remember to vote on the poll for your favorite Annie Award Best Animated Feature nominee!
