Diamond Celebration Appreciation Post

The Disneyland 60th Anniversary celebrations come with significant amounts of sequins, rhinestones, and - of course - diamonds. The sheer amount of products available to celebrate Disneyland's 60th birthday is incredibly amazing, even outside of the parks.

Inside the Disney Vault store in Downtown Disney: mugs, tiaras, ear hats, and more
All those diamonds, blue and white, glimmer under the fluorescent lights of the Downtown Disney shops - and the rhinestones don't stop at hair accessories and mugs. Even the food is in on the shine.

I am always amazed and fascinated by the beauty of Disney confections, especially the detailed candy apples. I'm dying to know what those gorgeous candy rhinestones taste like - and if they'll turn my tongue bright blue! Candy apples and marshmallow wands aren't the only diamond-themed goodies to be found in Madame Marceline's Confectionary. Chocolate collections sitting pretty in diamond-shaped boxes are yet another treat to be found, and enjoyed.

Don't they look beautifully delicious?
After strolling the sparkling Downtown Disney, I made my way through the always gorgeous Grand Californian and discovered a master baking achievement: an awe-inspiring cake that was almost the exact replica of the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.

I mean... How?
The cake is insane and, if you happen to be nearby, I would definitely take a stroll through the Grand Californian just to take a look at this fabulous cake and its extensive recipe. It's an amazing replica of the actual castle and its diamond decorations.

So much sparkle!
The decorations are gorgeous, making the castle even more beautiful - if possible - and definitely more fairy tale. The Diamond Celebration decorations are extensive, covering almost every building in Disneyland and especially Main Street. The extent of the blue, silver, and white throughout Main Street is comparable only to the decorations put up during the holiday season.

By the end of the day, I just really wanted some of that dark blue fabric with the sparkles. In addition to the exterior decorations, there would diamond collections in every shop and even in the Great Moments with Abraham Lincoln exhibit rooms.

Cinderella's glass slipper; similar to the 2015 Cinderella's, but no butterflies
A glass slipper was on display, as well as a diamond-encrusted less-edible replica of Sleeping Beauty's castle. The exhibit also featured concept art from the creation of Disneyland, and an update video about Walt Disney's first theme park.
Oh, we were definitely dazzled. Perhaps even blinded.
Disneyland is a magical place outside of anniversary celebrations; fantasy, magic, and the power of dreams lie around every corner. Yet, this special 60th anniversary served to make that magic even more tangible, as if pixie dust had been sprinkled (in decent-sized chunks) all across the park. If you have the means and the time, I highly recommend visiting the Disneyland Resort before this beautiful celebration comes to a close.

Stay tuned for more Disneyland fun and a look at the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center!

Did you visit Disneyland for the Diamond Celebration? If not, are you planning to?
